Now Is The Time To Blur Your Home On Google Maps To Protect Your Privacy.

Maps by Google. We all use Google at some point in our lives. Simply browse through Google Maps to get started. We use it to get directions, see city landmarks in 3D, read and write restaurant reviews, figure out when public transportation will arrive, and so on. However, there is a feature in Google Maps that has the potential to quickly turn into a real privacy issue.

If you’ve ever used Street View, you know that you can look at a recent image of any address in Google Maps, whether it’s a business or a home. It also makes it easier for stalkers or criminals to plan their way inside your home, despite the fact that it can be useful for getting directions to a building. They have a free ticket to look online at your house, look for cameras, and find a window they could break through. This can be done in person by anyone, but by using Google Maps, you can spy on someone’s home from your phone or computer. Fortunately, there is a simple way to blur your home on Google Maps so that other people don’t see too many details about where you live. The steps are as follows:

How to blur your house in Google Maps

Because the blurring feature isn’t available in the Google Maps app for iOS or Android, you’ll need to do this on your computer. You can also use a trusted web browser on your Mac or PC instead because the mobile web browser isn’t very user-friendly. Enter your home address into the search bar at the top right of maps.google.com, press return, and then click the picture of your house that appears.

The Street View of your location will appear next. At the bottom-right, select “Report a Problem.” Despite its tiny size, the text is there.

You now have the choice of what you want Google to blur. Adjust the view of the image with your mouse so that the red and black boxes contain your house and anything else you want to blur. Move around with your cursor, and zoom in and out with the plus and minus buttons, respectively.

Choose what you want to blur underneath the image after you’ve finished adjusting it:

A face My house My car and license plate A different object In the event that the image contains a lot of cars, people, and other objects, you will be asked to provide a little bit more information about what exactly you want blurred. Also, make absolutely certain that the item you select is the one you want blurred. Google says that once something is blurred in Street View, it stays that way forever.Last but not least, enter your email address, verify the captcha if necessary, and click Submit.

Google should then send you an email stating that it will examine your report and contact you if the request is granted or denied. Google may send you additional emails asking for additional information about your request. You should just keep an eye out for any additional emails because Google does not provide any information regarding how long it will take to process your request. Here’s how Google Maps can help you avoid crowded public transportation for more information. On December 8, 2022, at 4:15 a.m. PT, it was first published.
